The Crooked Man Explained

A lot of us consider Pat Rollins as the Crooked Man in the show, but he is just the host body that this evil energy is using. It is confirmed after the energy leaves Pat’s body and takes Brayden as its host.

The Lightning man’s energy came into existence in the human world when several meteorites fell from the sky and entered Pat’s body. But this energy was killing Pat gradually, and his condition worsened over time. But one day, Kenny visited Pat to break up with her, and while arguing with him, she accidentally set his hand on fire with her superpowers. Pat was so raged with this incident that he killed Kenny and the Crooked Man devoured it.

Pat realized for the first time that devouring the super-powered people could help him recover from his decaying body. So from here on, he becomes evil and starts to hunt down more superhumans. Charlotte Tuck was one of Pat’s targets, so he went to her house to devour her. But there, he finds Mark, who saves her but gets killed by Pat instead.

At the end of season one of Raising Dion, Pat takes the real Crooked Man’s form and starts fighting Dion. He was about to defeat Dion, but her mother, Nicole, reached there in time, and they both defeated the Crooked Man by improvising the lightning rod.

After this, in season 2, The Lightning Man changes its host body and makes its place in a young boy named Brayden. Now, as Brayden is the one holding the powers of the Crooked Man, he is manipulated to do all the evil things. But he finally gets into his senses after listening to Nicole. After this, the Crooked Man’s energy goes back to Pat, and he becomes the Crooked Man again.
