WWE 2K22 Gameplay Footage Details Revamped Combat System

2K has stepped into the ring with a fresh WWE 2K22 gameplay video showcasing the game’s revamped combat system, which addresses numerous issues players encountered with the critically-panned WWE 2K20.

WWE 2K20 had more than its fair share of issues, although one of the main criticism was its cumbersome controls and reversal-heavy gameplay. The latter has also been overhauled, with the introduction of breakers now acting as a way for players to counter their opponent’s attacks.

Jason Vandiver, the game’s principe designer, commented:

Players are going to notice a significant difference the moment they pick up the controller. The characters are way more response than they’ve ever been, you no longer feel like you’re fighting to control your character, [and] get them into position to do what you want them to do.

WWE 2K22 is pencilled for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on March 11, 2022.
