Grand Theft Auto 6 Development Officially Confirmed By Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games has announced that development of Grand Theft Auto 6, referred simply to as the ‘next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series,’ is underway following years of rumors and speculation.

The developer confirmed that GTA 6 is in the pipeline during an update to its community regarding what’s in store for GTA V, GTA Online, and the future of the franchise going forward. It’s only a brief mention, but at least we finally got an official word on the matter.

With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.

GTA 6 is supposedly not going to see the light of day until 2025, at least according to the most recent Internet chatter regarding the upcoming crime juggernaut. Development has also reportedly run into its fair share of problems, and was rebooted in 2019.
