Grand Theft Auto 5 dated for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with new details
Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto V will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on March 15, 2022. It said the game will include “new graphics modes with up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, texture and draw distance upgrades, HDR options and ray-tracing”. Also on offer will be “faster loading times, immersive 3D audio, platform-specific features like advanced haptic feedback, and much more”. PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to transfer their GTA V campaign progress and their current GTA Online characters and progression to new-gen systems via a one-time migration at launch. GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will let players skip the story mode prologue before playing and will include a new tutorial. New players and returning ones who want to restart their character will be able to take advantage of the Career Builder to choose one of four illegal enterprises (Biker, Executive, Nightclub Owner, or Gunrunner). They will also receive “a sizable GTA$ windfall” to buy a property, luxury vehicle and weapons. The new versions of GTA Online will also include exclusive upgrades for some vehicles, including speed boosts. The new Hao’s Special Works auto shop, located within the LS Car Meet, will enable players to upgrade five new vehicles and five existing one at launch. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of GTA V and GTA Online were originally due to arrive in November 2021, but were delayed late last year. GTA V first released in September 2013 and will be appearing on its third generation of consoles. Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, said in November that GTA V had shipped 155 million units.
