Best Lost Ark Islands for Upgrade Materials (Farm Route)
Islands offer quests with sometimes very lucrative rewards. In this Lost Ark Guide, we’re going to look at the best islands to farm lots of upgrade materials quickly. These allow you to increase your character’s item level much faster.
Introduction
You must reach certain item levels (iLevel) to unlock new islands. That’s why this guide is grouped by iLevel to make it easier for you to find your way around.
The islands selected here are interesting because they give you a lot of materials in a short time. You use these materials for equipment enhancement in Lost Ark, increasing the item level of your armor and weapons.
Some of the screenshots in the guide are difficult to understand. But you can type in the island names in the map (in-game) at the top right and the map will show you where the island is. That should help to find everything easily.
The island names may change before the release. We will review and update you as soon as possible. We will also continue to optimize this guide and keep an eye on whether individual steps need to be explained better.
Islands from iLevel 250
Even if the requirement for Tier 1 islands is only item level 250, your character should optimally start with iLevel 302 right away. Either you do 1-2 chaos dungeons or the main quest in Shushire.
The choice depends a bit on how much time you will invest in the coming days. Check out Lost Ark Min/Max Guide: Quickly Farm Tier 3 Gear for all the details on min/maxing your gear progression.
But now off to the first island to start the farm route!
3.1 Seagull Island
Starting in Vern, you teleport to the harbor and set sail with your ship to Seagull Island (Dreamgull Island). Follow the entire questline here. The last step of the questline won’t work if you haven’t unlocked the required song yet. In this case, leave the quest in your quest journal.
Island of the White Wave
Your next stop is White Wave Island. Again, you won’t be able to complete the entire island just yet. Complete the quests as far as you can.
Starlight Island
After that, you continue sailing to Starlight Island. Here you quest until the quest sends you to Shushire. At this point, you will continue to travel to the next island. You can catch up on the trip to Shushire another time.
Panda Pupu Island
Then it’s on to Panda Pupu Island (Panda Island) in the far east. Accept the quest on the beach and find the 3 locations around the island (in the video from 5:00 if you need help). Then you do the purple quest in the very north of the island and you’re done with it.
Peyto
Peyto in the southwest is now up next. Accept Una’s “Ride Like the Wind” daily quest. You can open the menu with Alt+J.
On the ship, you walk west to the “Upper Deck”. In the southern area stands Mathias, who will give you the purple quest A Frosty Affair.
Turtle Island
With the quest accepted and Una’s task, continue to Turtle Island to the east. Release your passenger by running into the orange circle and accepting the purple quest. You only complete the first part of this questline.
Toto Silver Island and Tortoyk
The next stop is Toto Silver Island. Here you do everything until it sends you to Tortoyk. Here you will repair your ship for the first time and get your ship power back.
Arrived on Tortoyk you let the next passenger get off. Only continue the questline that is still open from Toto Silver Isle. In the end, you travel back to Toto Silver Island.
This unlocks a new task for Una. Press Alt+J again and accept the daily quest “Remove the Marks of Time”.
celebration mile
Complete both daily quests and travel to the Party Mile (Avenue Club Island). Let the last passenger out of here.
Island of Tranquility
From here it goes to the island of tranquility (Serenity Island). A longer questline awaits you here. Optimally, you set this location as a Bifrost point. Now you have to visit two dungeons:
- Morai Ruins in East Luterra
- Towards the Deepest in Tortoyk.
If you’ve already done the dungeons while leveling, now you can play it on hard that the completionist in you can benefit from it too.
Now teleport to your Bifrost point and turn in the quest.
Shadow Island
Now would be a good time to take a trip to Vern Castle and upgrade your gear with all the materials.
Then exit Castle Vern and travel north to Shadow Island. With your upgraded gear, you should be able to complete almost the entire questline. Make as many floors as you can and save the rest for later.
Glacier Island
The next stop is Glacier Island to the north. Do as much of the quest as possible here. At the point where you need to throw something in a pond, the given destination might be difficult to find. Go to the falls at the very north of the map to find the correct location.
Then you return to Vern Castle and strengthen your equipment again.
Islands from iLevel 460
At item level 460, you unlock Rohendel and the western side of the world map. To do this, travel to Vern Castle and complete the newly available quest “Queen of Vern”.
Then it’s on to Rohendel. Repair your ship and talk to the NPC. Complete the open questline by heading back to White Wave Island. Then teleport back to North Vern and back to Rohendel.
With the main story on Rohendel and your daily Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids, you’ll sooner or later get to item level 600.
Islands to support 460 to 600 are:
- Twilight Isle
- Sublime Island
- Isle of Yearning
- atropos
- Fermata, the Cradle of the Sea (Cradle of the Sea Fermata)
Islands from iLevel 802
With an average item level of 600 (ie all T1 items at +15) you unlock Tier 2. Do your main quest in Yorn and run 2 chaos dungeons at the same time, since equipment with iLevel 802 drops here.
With this equipment, you can set sail again to farm Tier 2 upgrade materials.
Vern Castle
After Arthetine, you travel back to Vern Castle. In the business district, you can accept the quest for Aiwana Island.
Love Home
With the quest under your belt, you travel to East Luterra. From there it goes on to Liebeheim. That’s a little north of western Luterra.
Accept the purple quest from Arianna. If you don’t have the 20 Charisma required by this quest, you can do these two quests:
- “What’s a Name?” by Neria in Prideholme.
- “Mercenary Registration” by Basilock in Drypath with its follow-up quests.
This gives you the charisma you need.
Aiwana Island
Now head to Aiwana Island to do the quest you accepted in Vern Castle. the island is directly east of Liebeheim. Complete all quests on this island.
Then you sail back to Liebeheim. In the northwest, accept Henry’s questline and complete it. You will have to travel a lot for that.
Island of Runaways
You end up at Runaway Island north of Arthetine. While the quests here don’t give any upgrade materials, they do have all sorts of other valuable rewards.
Distorted Island
Now travel far west to Distorted Island. Here you play a hide and seek game with an NPC. Follow the questline until you get into the Cube ( must have instanced PvE content ). At this point you move on to the next island.
Gravis
Far to the west of the Distorted Isle and northeast of Punika you will find Gravis. Complete the questline found here.
Hypnos’ Eyes
Next, complete the quest on Hypnos’ Eyes (Hypnos Eyes) southwest of Gravis and directly north of Punika.
If you get stuck on a quest, go to the next island and come back later.
Twilight Island
The last island on our cruise is Twilight Island. It’s east of Hypno’s eyes. Here, too, an easy quest awaits you, which you can do directly.
