Ymir Founding Titan Origin
As per the Attack On Titan manga, on one unfortunate night, Ymir saw some pigs locked up in the barn. She opened the barn gates to free those pigs and let the pigs run away. The next day, King Fritz questioned everyone about the incident and threatened to punish all enslaved people by getting one of their eyes gouged if the culprit was kept hidden.
Fearful of the punishment, all people pointed their fingers at Ymir, and she was set free, but only to be used as a hunting sport. Hiding from the soldiers of King Fritz, wounded and helpless, Ymir went through the opening of a large tree. There, Ymir slipped and fell into a liquid where she started drowning.

But as she was going beneath the surface of the liquid, a mysterious spine-like creature amalgamated with Ymir, and the next thing we know, she turned into the Founding Titan.
Now this mysterious creature is kept vague in the manga, but there is an interesting theory that you should know. The Eldians believe that Ymir got the titan’s power from God. On the other hand, Marleyans think that the founder Ymir got this power from the devil of the earth.
Interestingly, we also have something right from the Attack On Titan show. In one of the public disclosure information, it was shared that Ymir became a titan after coming in contact with something unknown. But according to the legend, it was some kind of pathogenic parasite, or maybe a God who pitied Ymir’s condition and shared its powers with her.

Ymir continued following King Fritz and built roads, bridges, cultivated land, and flourished the Eldian Empire with her new powers. The same powers were also used to defeat the kingdom of Marley. To pass on the titan’s power to her daughters, King Fritz made her daughters Maria, Rosse, and Sina cannibalize their mother.
