GTA Trilogy The Definitive Edition Has Sold About 10 Million Copies
Take-Two has revealed in its latest financial report that Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has sold around 10 million copies worldwide, which is pretty impressive for a collection of games that were a buggy mess on release.
The publishing giant confirmed that the GTA series has now sold 370 million units worldwide, having moved 15 million since its last update and before GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was released. Take-Two clarified that five million of that 15 million figure was made up of GTA 5 sales, leaving 10 million for GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition .
As mentioned, the trilogy, which features remasters of GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas, was met with heavy criticism for its poor performance, particularly on Nintendo Switch.

Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick addressed this recently during a chinwag with GI.biz:
We have some quality issues. We’ve attempted to address those. We have more coming, and we feel very good about how the title has performed commercially. I think we were all a bit disappointed about the quality initially. We’re very grateful that most of those issues have been addressed. There’s more work to be done.
In related news, developer Rockstar Games confirmed last week that work is well underway on the next entry in the GTA franchise after years of speculation.
