Genshin Impact Lantern Rite Gifts Bug Gets Us Free Intertwined Fates

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo just made a pretty big mistake triggering a peculiar Lantern Rite gifts bug, but players are actually grateful for what happened.

On February 9, miHoYo started distributing new “Flowing Lights and Colors” rewards in Genshin Impact, gifts to celebrate the in-game Lantern Rite vet, which is about to end soon. The rewards were sent via in-game mails as always, and players can redeem the rewards through the Paimon Menu.

However, some of the players got the mail twice, which allowed them to get double the amount of rewards.

miHoYo distributes free Intertwined Fates to all players ater Lantern Rite gift bug

To solve the issue, miHoYo decided everyone will be partaking in the bug, and in order to even the score, all players are now getting double the rewards. The gift most notably included Intertwined Fates, which are necessary to pull on time-limited banners, with Ganyu and Zhongli currently having reruns.

Over on Twitter, Paimon via her official account also apologized for the mistake, but all players are incredibly grateful the incident happened in the first place.

You can redeem the rewards starting midnight February 9 server time, until the end of Version 2.4 on February 16. Those who were initially affected by the bug and already got double the gifts won’t get additional rewards.

Dear Traveler

Due to a configuration issue with the in-game mail, Travelers on some servers received two copies of the mail “Flowing Lights and Colors” – Lantern Rite Gifts (1/5).

Genshin Impact will be adding Hydro and Sword husbando Kamisato Ayato as a playable character in Version 2.6 coming on March 30, 2022. Before that, Yae Miko will become playable with Version 2.5 on February 16. The Beta for 2.6 should start then too, so we’ll get in late February the first real details on Ayato’s Elemental Skill and Burst.
