It quickly fell off several charts as players left the game for various others, while the recent delay of Battlefield 2042’s seasonal content didn’t help at all. This reception easily puts Battlefield 2042 as one of the most disappointing games of 2021, and now fans are seeking refunds. For context, Battlefield 2042 players seem to be seeking complete refunds much akin to the Cyberpunk 2077 launch. Battlefield 2042 may continue to improve much like the latter, but for many, the initial luster is gone, it’s not what was promised, and its lead-up is considered false advertising, leading to a petition to Sony, Microsoft, Steam, DICE, and the Federal Trade Commission to allow refunds on all platforms.
