Critical Role’s The Legend of Vox Machina Review of Episodes 4-6.

The Legend of Vox Machina Review — Episodes 4, 5 & 6 were so much better than the initial 3. While I still have my criticisms, I will say my enjoyment is nearly night and day.

Watch my video review of The Legend of Vox Machina Episodes 4 – 6 for my complete breakdown and analysis.

Video Review – Episodes 4, 5 & 6.The Legend of Vox Machina Episode 4

Vox Machina is put under house arrest due to Percy’s actions, and Lady Briarwood notices her tome is missing, so she sends some undead terrors to retrieve it. The episode plays out following these two as a base.

Keyleth gets some nice (and needed) character development, as she has to step up with her magical abilities to save the party when Pike fails at using magic, which ultimately leads to her staying behind on the journey to Whitestone, as she needs to figure out what is going on.

The Legend of Vox Machina Episode 5

Continuing their journey to Whitestone, Vox Machina battles another present from Lady Briarwood; this time some sort of undead wolves? The party takes a much-needed long rest and reminisces about their favorite kills around a campfire. A nice cliffhanger ends the episode, as Vox Machina arrives at Whitestone; it is not how Percy remembered it. Whitestone is now a dreary and scary place and the Briarwoods left them a bit of a welcoming present.

The Legend of Vox Machina Episode 6

A Whitestone rebellion, a rescue party, and a bunch of action sums up Episode 6.

More development for Percy here and I’m really starting to like how brutal Percy is. The whole mask and black smoke (whatever the deal with that is) is cool and I hope we learn more about that before the end of the season. The names etched into his gun barrels is very Arya Stark Kill-List; very cool.

Episode 6 also includes a hilarious sequence of Keyleth, Scanlan, and Grog giving their rescue plan ideas; the chibi art was hilarious!

I have some criticism – the animation quality, some of the voice acting. Watch my video review as I expand on my thoughts and breakdown of the episodes.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time with episodes 4-6 of Critical Role’s The Legend of Vox Machina animated series.
