Dear Esther is free on Steam until February 16
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Dear Esther is free on Steam right now.
Developed by The Chinese Room, Dear Esther earned a slew of awards, including Excellence in Visual Arts at the 2012 Independent Games Festival and Best Debut Game at the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2012. Players will get a free copy of the Landmark Edition, which includes a Directors Commentary mode.
The Chinese Room’s Dan Pinchbeck said this about the beloved title:
“It was a joy working on Dear Esther with such a creative, talented and inspiring group of developers, and we’ve been delighted and humbled by the warmth of the gaming community over the last ten years. We are thrilled to offer Dear Esther to a new generation of players for its tenth anniversary, and I’m personally looking forward to hearing from those players who are able to explore Dear Esther’s island today for the very first time.”
The free offer lasts until February 16 at 10 a.m. EST/7 a.m. PST.
On March 1, The Chinese Room will release a remastered version of their 2020 game Little Orpheus on consoles and PC.
