Horizon Forbidden West On PS4 ‘Holds Up Well,’ Says Guerrilla Games
Guerrilla Games has praised the performance of the PS4 version of Horizon Forbidden West, which despite not looking quite as technically stunning as the PS5 edition of the game, still ‘holds up quite well,’ according to technical director Michiel van der Leeuw.
Speaking with Engadget, he explained that the team were targeted a series of high-end effects for Horizon Forbidden West on PS5, but reckons the PS4 version is more than up to scratch in comparison.
From the start, we targeted having higher-fidelity characters, high-fidelity environments, higher-fidelity vegetation, everything, just for the PS5. So you’ll just see different models for the PS4 version, but with the same sort of atmosphere throughout the game.
I’m quite happy how it turned out. I’m very proud of the PS5 version. But the PS4 version has the same sort of atmosphere, same sort of feel. Of course, it’s a generation older, but it holds up, I think, quite well.
