Action-roguelite Warm Snow gets a blizzard of updates
Developer BadMudStudio and publisher Bilibili are excited to announce the latest update and DLC plans for their popular action-roguelite game Warm Snow. Filled with exhilarating combat, Warm Snow brings together powerful combos and skillful sword fighting that take inspiration from the developer’s Chinese roots. Each run is different, giving every battle a distinct feel and forcing players to improve and adapt constantly. Warm Snow launched in January and is currently available on Steam, where it has over 9000 reviews, currently 91% of which are positive. The upcoming avalanche of DLC content promises to give players even more tools in their fight, with new Relics, Excaliburs, and a powerful NPC known as the Soul Blacksmith.
The Soul Blacksmith will be a powerful ally for players. His masterful skills give him the unique ability to enhance Excaliburs – the weapon of choice in Warm Snow – and re-forge items. Warm Snow already offers players an arsenal of over 40 Excaliburs to wield, which they can upgrade and customise to suit their playstyle and tactic. This latest update also gives players some additional reinforcements, adding six new Excalibur’s to the game alongside five new Relics to wield in their fight against Warm Snow’s Royal Houses.
Warm Snow lead developer, Li Zi, said of the update plans: “In our first updates, we plan to focus on strengthening certain areas of the game that will offer more choice to players, like adding more properties and refining combat. The team plans to continuously tweak and make improvements to the game while also introducing dynamic new features.”
Warm Snow is set in a dark fantasy world based upon the history, mythology, and folklore of Eastern cultures. Five Royal Houses overthrew the tyrannical thousand-year rule of House Snake. However, peace would not last long, as the skies of Warm Snow’s world became blighted with a dangerous snowlike powder floating through the air, turning those it touched into monsters. The source of this powder came from the mysterious white lotus flower, impervious to fire and seemingly impossible to cut down. To end the reign of the Royal Houses, players must take on the mantle of the elite warrior tasked Bi An, an elite warrior with the skills to destroy the powerful plant.
Warm Snow is available to download on Steam for £13.99/€14.99/$17.99 and is playable in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.
