Square Enix has unleashed a new Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin trailer for you to feast your eyes on, which pulls no punches when it comes to over-the-top action. It even manages to somehow throw in Frank Sinatra’s ‘May Way’ and make it work. Sort of.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is scheduled for release on March 18, 2022 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The game is developed by Team Ninja, the same studio responsible for the Ninja Gaiden franchise, and is being positioned as a ‘alternate retelling‘ of Final Fantasy.

The game takes place in a dark fantasy incarnation of the setting for the original Final Fantasy, and follows a group who have been pulled into the realm from another world. Among them is Jack Garland, who is consumed by the desire to destroy Chaos, and is joined by companions including Ash and Jed.
