Rumor – Activision To Release At Least 3 More Call Of Duty Games For PlayStation Formats

There are at least three more Call of Duty games reportedly being lined up for release on PlayStation platforms, according to Bloomberg.

The report claims that Activision had already made plans to release three new Call of Duty games for PlayStation and Xbox formats prior to Microsoft’s acquisition plans.

As for the games themselves, they are believed to be Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Infinity Ward) in 2022, a new Treyarch-developed Call of Duty game for next year, and Call of Duty Warzone 2 also in 2023.

This ties in with what Microsoft’s Phil Spencer previously said about Call of Duty’s future on PlayStation, where he confirmed the company’s intention to keep the series on Sony consoles.

Had good calls this week with leaders at Sony. I confirmed our intent to honor all existing agreements upon acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of our industry, and we value our relationship.

We’ve already heard many rumors about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II being this year’s entry in the series, although we’re still waiting for an official reveal.
