Twitch May Be Working on a Way to Offer Streamers Reliable Monthly Income
Twitch released a blog post, revealing a new monetization model for streamers to generate a fixed monthly income. The new program targeted all Twitch partners and affiliates only and it could offer monetary incentives for streaming for a specific number of hours. The post has now been removed and it is unknown if Twitch will launch the program at all, or if it will make changes to it, following the post’s removal.
Twitch’s Ads Incentive Program Explained
Twitch explained in its video that the new Ads Incentive Program will offer personalized offers to select streamers at launch. Content creators can get a flat payout each month in exchange for streaming a certain number of hours while running ads.

In the now removed blog post, Twitch said, “We know how important reliable monthly income is to creators. That’s why, today, we’re introducing predictability into a revenue source that rarely provides it: ads… The goal is simple: help you earn a more predictable monthly income through ads, with no ceiling on earning potential.”
The goal of the new program is to offer reliable and predictable income for streamers. It would simplify ads on the platform and offer full control to the streamers to have ads on their stream via a dedicated Ads Manager dashboard.
Thew new program can allow creators to earn $500 to $1,000 a month
The plan was announced for Twitch partners and affiliates only. Upon accepting an offer from the Ads manager, creators would be able to set ads and if they met the required goals, a fixed payout would be offered at the end of the month.
Here are the three monthly income options laid out by Twitch:
-
Streaming 40 hours a month with 2 minutes of ads per hour: $500
-
Streaming 40 hours a month with 3 minutes of ads per hour: $800
-
Streaming 40 hours a month with 4 minutes of ads per hour: $1,000
While Twitch said that the program will be open to affiliates and partners, it is unknown if there will be additional requirements given that Twitch will need a sizeable viewership from the Ads Incentive Program, to generate revenue via the streamers. Twitch is yet to comment on why the post was removed via the platform but if the Ads Manager does launch, it will provide security to the platform’s content creators who earn their affiliate or partner programs.
