Star Citizen Gets New Videos Showing Derelicts & Upcoming Content as Crowdfunding Passes $432 Million
Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games released update alpha 3.16.1 to backers of the growing space simulator and a couple of interesting videos.
The first video focuses on the derelicts implemented in 3.16.1 alongside laser trip mines, and on future versions that add different ship types and complexity.
We also get to see more future content including several ships like the Drake Vulture, the RSI Scorpius, the MISC Hull A, the Banu merchantman, and the Drake Corsair.
The second video stars Senior Concept Artist Fred Dupere as he works on a possible derelict location.
In other Star Citizen news, the crowdfunding total has recently passed $432 million and it’s currently sitting on $432,657,834.
The number of registered accounts has recently passed 3.5 million, and it’s at 3,510,622 at the moment of this writing.
As usual, you should keep in mind that it’s known that not all of them are paying players. The number includes free accounts created for a variety of reasons, including Free Fly events like the one that recently ended.
A few months ago, we got an extensive look at what’s coming to Star Citizen with several panels hosted at CitizenCon.
If you’re wondering whether the game is actually fun to play, this is a good place to start. A star-studded single-player campaign titled “Squadron 42” is in development.
For the sake of full disclosure, do keep in mind that the author of this article has been a Star Citizen backer since the original Kickstarter campaign several years ago.
