Where to Find Oval Stones in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

One element emulated from past Pokemon games in Pokemon Legends: Arceus is the need for evolution stones – which is a requirement for evolving certain pocket monsters.

As many players will be desperate to evolve certain Pokemon in their collection, we explore where you can find Oval Stones and which Pokemon require the stone to evolve.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be set within an ancient expanse of the Sinnoh region, where your task will be to “survey, catch, and research the wild Pokemon of the long-gone era” and complete the Pokedex at hand with a handful of new mechanics to set this game apart from the classics.

Where to find Oval Stones

A primary location to scout for Oval Stones is the Trading Post, located in Jubilife Village. Look for Simona, who runs the Trading Post, and she will offer you the chance to trade Merit Points for items, including Oval Stones.

Merit Points are gained by obtaining Satchels in the wild that used to belong to fallen Pokemon trainers. Inside the Satchels, you will find many items, and if returned to their owner, you will gain back Merit Points.

400 Merit Points will then be able to be exchanged for items with Simona in order to bag an Oval Stone.

Alternatively, Ursaluna is also in with the chance of sniffing out an Oval Stone for you or you can keep an eagle-eye out for them appearing in space-time distortion fields.

Additionally, try shaking any ores you come across, as Oval Stones can sometimes be found inside them.

The Purpose of Oval Stones

The main purpose of Oval Stones is to evolve a certain Pokemon, otherwise, it would never evolve.

Oval Stones are used to evolve the Pokemon Happiny into Chansey.

There are only a handful of Oval Stones scattered throughout gameplay, therefore, they are a rarity to come by.

In addition to the Oval Stone, there is a long list of other Evolution Stones you will need to evolve certain Pokemon:

• Fire Stone
• Water Stone
• Thunder Stone
• Leaf Stone
• Ice Stone
• Moon Stone
• Sun Stone
• Shiny Stone
• Dusk Stone
• Dawn Stone
