Team Liquid vs Gaimin Gladiators: Match Recap and Highlights
Recap
In game 1, Gladiators’ lineup lacked damage in the early phases since it had Io and Treant Protector as its support duo. It was unable to make moves on the enemy cores as a result while Team Liquid, led by zai’s Timbersaw, was jumping from lane to lane to find kills. The map grew smaller for Gladiators, as Team Liquid finished with a dominant win in 35 minutes.
Game 2 saw stable drafts from both sides with Gladiators once again putting its trust in dyrachyo’s Phantom Assassin and Team Liquid opting for an Io-Gyrocopter combo. Although the early phases saw back and forth skirmishing, Team Liquid’s midgame execution was perfect and it established a decent lead. Gladiators tried to fight back but found a few support kills while losing key heroes. After another outstanding performance from Team Liquid, the team won in 34 minutes.
Highlights
Here are some highlights of the series.
Gladiators has been using some clever drafting and laning strategies such as its trilane to gain an advantage over its opponents, however, Team Liquid was well prepared to deal with it. As Team Liquid lined up the right heroes in the right matchup, it never let Gladiators execute its plans in the laning phase. Having already intercepted the enemy’s plans, Team Liquid already found itself in the lead, and then its excellent execution came into play to seal the win.
It is especially worth discussing Michael “miCKe” Vu who has brought his game to a whole new level since returning to the midlane. Team Liquid’s players have all been performing very well, but miCKe has consistently outplayed his opponent in the lane and also proven to be very effective as the game has progressed, whether it’s ganking or teamfighting.
Team Liquid will now await its opponent in the grand final of the Regional Finals. On the other hand, Gladiators will face the victor of OG vs Tundra Esports in the lower bracket final.
