Bubzkji Becomes Free: Astralis Terminates Contract
The Danish CS:GO player, Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, has finally become a free agent who can now explore other options as Astralis has agreed to terminate the player’s contract. Bubzkji has been an inactive player of Astralis since July 2021. He has missed out on six months of competitive CS:GO while sitting on the sidelines, doing nothing but post banger Tweets with which the community has absolutely fallen in love with. Now, Astralis and Bubzkji have mutually agreed to terminate his contract, accomplishing the objective of ‘#FreeBubzkji’, started by the community on Twitter.
With this, his 18-month tenure with the Danish esports organization has come to an end. He only represented the team in about ten CS:GO tournaments during the time.

Statements by Bubzkji
Kasper Hvidt – Director of Sports for Astralis, expressed that Bubzkji joined the team during a difficult period where he was constantly shuffled in and out of the roster, while rarely getting a chance to play his favorite positions. Despite all this, Bubzkji has been nothing but loyal and a true professional towards the organization. He further added that,
Kasper HvidtIt never turned out to what we all hoped it would and I am glad we have found a solution giving Lucas free hands to find the best possible solution for his future. He has always delivered when called upon and we owe Lucas a big thank you and best of luck with his future endeavors. He will always be a highly valued part of our history.
A statement by Astralis further revealed that Bubzkji would be joining the Danish National Broadcaster, Tv2, as an expert commentator for the immediate future.
While speaking to Dexerto about this change in direction for his CS:GO career Bubzkji explained that he had worked as an analyst with Tv2 during the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and got hooked to the job. He says, “I’d rather work as an analyst than play, but right now this feels more right for me”.
As for his future as a player, Bubzkji does not want to give the impression that he is retiring or never returning again. For the time being, he is content doing something else.
