The first chunk of free Dying Light 2 DLC has dropped today and is now available to claim on PC and consoles.

Part one of the Authority Pack can be redeemed for free on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).

This is the first of three Authority Pack content drops that includes three pieces of gear inspired by the Peacekeeper faction who appear in Dying Light 2. Here’s a rundown of what’s included.

Dying Light 2 – Authority Pack Part 1/3

Bring law and order back to The City, and make sure everyone follows the rules with the Authority pack, coming in three parts to download as free DLCs. Collect all of them to get a full outfit and a unique hammer.

The first part contains:

  • Intimidating Jacket—Put on this jacket, and go fight for justice!
  • Intimidating Cargo Pants—They’ll hold everything you’ll need to enforce the law.
  • Intimidating High-tops—Stand for what’s right with these unique high-tops.

Parts two and three are presumably on the way, introducing even more new gear to Dying Light 2. Expect more perk-boosted armour for Aiden to equip and (potentially) a small arsenal of Peacekeeper weapons.

Even once all three parts of the Authority Pack have been released, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Developer Techland has committed to supporting Dying Light 2 with five years’ worth of upcoming content.

In our Dying Light 2 review we scored the survival horror sequel a 7/10. Although there have been some clever refinements, we also ran into some issues. Here’s what we had to say:

“Dying Light 2 expands and refines a formula Techland has been peddling since its breakout success with Dead Island. This sequel learns a lot from modern open world video games, its massive, zombie-infested sandbox rarely feeling empty, especially as you breeze through city blocks with a Mirror’s Edge-like finesse. However, Dying Light 2 inherits the same problems – a dull story, tiresome combat, and character progression that’s a tad too sluggish.”
