Geoff Keighley Hints At More Large Acquisitions To Come In 2022
Geoff Keighley has been an industry insider for a long time, so to see him hint towards a hidden knowledge of more acquisitions in the works isn’t too surprising.
That’s exactly what one of his most recent tweets does. “As you might suspect, there are a few other big video game deals in the final stages of negotiations,” he said on Twitter.
Have heard from multiple people: As you might suspect, there are a few other big video game deals in final stages of negotiations. It’s going to be an interesting year!

Now he does nothing to allude to who is being acquired by who or anything of that nature, but it’s clear that the industry will continue to be shaken up.
In the first month of 2022 alone we’ve seen billions of dollars exchanged in deals that all have huge ramifications for the industry.
To know that we will only see more deals like this going forward means we can be sure of one thing – that the industry will definitely look quite different by 2023.
Jim Ryan has already come out and said that we can “expect more” acquisitions from PlayStation, so at least some of that industry shifting will come from Sony.
