Halo Live Action Series Has Already Been Renewed for a Second Season

After years of being in development, the Halo TV series, based on the video-game franchise of the same name, will finally touchdown on the landing pads next month, as the first season is slated to premiere on Paramount+ on March 24. While fans and viewers have yet to watch the show and give their opinions on it, the studio executives, on the other hand, show a vote of confidence.

Announced at the Viacom CBS Investor Day presentation, Paramount announced that the Halo live action series has been renewed for a second season. Additionally, David Wiener of Brave New World and Homecoming will be joining the second season as showrunner.

As of this moment, those are the only few details Viacom CBS has shared publicly, as no potential release date for a second season was revealed. Tanya Giles, the chief programming officer of Paramount+ says this (via IGN): “Halo is an expansive, world-building opportunity for Paramount+, and we’re thrilled to give fans a second season to look forward to before we launch the series next month. Halo will deliver a thrill-ride for fans of the game and non-gamers alike, as it ties together stunning visuals with a deeper look at the personal stories behind these iconic characters.”

Set in a separate canon of its own, the Halo live action series will follow the war between UNSC and the alien collective known as the Covenant, which should be familiar to series fans, to say the very least.
