Here’s when Advance Wars, Splatoon 3, and Mario Strikers come out on Switch
Today’s Nintendo Direct had some big announcements, with Advance Wars, Splatoon 3 and Mario Strikers taking centre stage.
Coming out in 2022, Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot, Splatoon 3 and Mario Strikers will be among the first to arrive on Nintendo Switch.
The Advance Wars franchise has been dormant for a long time, and it’s taken Nintendo a couple of console generations to revisit the turn-based strategy game.
The good news is that while the classic graphics are being replaced, the gameplay will remain intact and receive several updates to help those dipping in.
This includes making it possible to rewind turns, as well as being able to fast-forward gameplay. Nintendo also confirmed today that another upgrade would be new voiceovers for the commanders in each game.
New Nintendo Switch Games Coming Soon
Local and online multiplayer matches will be supported on Nintendo Switch Online and come with the bonus of sharing and creating battle maps.
Nintendo also confirmed that the Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot release date had been scheduled for April 8.
This will be followed by more colourful games, including Splatoon 3 and Mario Strikers.
As confirmed today by Nintendo, Splatoon 3 will be arriving during Summer 2022, although we don’t have an official launch date yet.
A message from Nintendo adds: “The next wave of Salmon Run’s co-op action returns in Splatoon 3! But with this mysterious new giant Salmonid in the picture, it might be a more formidable challenge than swimming upstream!
“Join Agent 3 in a fight against the evil Octarian army in story mode. Discover the secrets of Alterna, the Fuzzy Ooze, and how they connect to the mode’s theme, “Return of the Mammalians.”
“Stay tuned for more information to be revealed, as the Splatoon 3 game is scheduled to release for the Nintendo Switch system in 2022.”
Nintendo Strike Back
Meanwhile, the next instalment in the Mario Strikers franchise – Battle League – will be arriving on June 10 and includes several gameplay improvements.
The Five-Vs-Five Battle League will feature a number of hallmarks from earlier games, including useable items and special shots.
The Nintendo Switch Mario Strikers will also allow you to equip different items before hitting the field that boosts your skills list, including speed, strength and technique.
All three games boast online play modes with differing numbers of players available to play and enjoy local co-op.
