It also seems like Eren is finally getting what he really wanted, and Zeke, nor anyone else, can do anything to stop him. But we also know that Attack On Titan is one of the most twisted anime series ever so the events that seem to be obvious, may not even happen.

Annie Leonhart’s Fate in Attack On Titan

Annie turning out to be the female titan was one of the biggest surprises in the show. At one point, she was a loyal member of the Survey Corps, and in the next moment, she turned out to be their biggest foe. After a prolonged hardship, Survey Corps finally defeated Annie’s female titan form when Mikasa cut her fingers off, making Annie fall on the ground.

But when the soldiers tried to get her out of her nape, she was found in a crystallized shell that was impossible to break. So they were left with no choice but to keep her safe.

It was pretty obvious that Annie is still alive, which meant that she will return at one point in the show and her time finally came in episode 81 of AOT. Eren started the rumbling by nullifying the hardening of the walls, which unleased hundreds and thousands of titans at once but Eren’s power is not just limited to the walls. This was made evident when Gabi tells Armin that Eren has undone the hardening of the Armor Titan.

If Reiner’s Titan was affected by Eren’s power, Annie is no different. At the end of the show, when we saw Annie lying down in the pool of fluid and broken pieces of crystal scattered all around her, it meant she was affected by Eren’s power too. So yes, Annie is back and now what we have to look forward to is what she will do to stop Eren.
