Horizon Forbidden West Launch Has Sony Team With Eden Project To Highlight UK’s Wildflower Habitats
Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it is partnering with the Eden Project for the launch of Horizon Forbidden West this Friday in an effort to highlight the importance of the UK’s wildflower habitats.
The National Wildflower Centre, which is based at the Eden Project, is attempting to combine conservation, creativity, and colour to create a new and vibrant habitat for wildflowers throughout a number of underused locations throughout the UK.
Sony and the Eden Project’s partnership will see the formation of a 12-acre wildflower habitat in Morecambe, Lancashire, drawing on the gorgeous natural world featured in Guerrilla Games’ upcoming open-world sequel on PS4 & PS5. The new habitat will be sown in March 2022, with plans to spread across sites in and around the town, such as Heysham’s Sunny Slopes and West End Gardens.
To mark the launch of the partnership, the Eden Project has lit up the Eden Project Biomes in Cornwall, UK, to represent Aloy’s Shieldwing as seen in Horizon Forbidden West.

Eden Project CEO David Harland commented:
We are delighted to be working with PlayStation to create new wildflower habitats in Morecambe. In supporting these new nature spaces this project further under lines our commitment to the town and our desire to make a lasting transformation to the residents of Morecambe and the place they live.
Horizon Forbidden West is scheduled for release on PS4 & PS5 on February 18, 2022.
