The latest, and perhaps greatest new Pokémon game is here, with Pokémon Legends: Arceus revolutionising the popular monster-catching RPG. WIth a whole new open world design, new battle techniques to master, and the world’s first Pokédex to compile in a setting long in the past, this is an epic new adventure, but how long does it take to beat?

How long is Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

We’ll put the facts out there for you right away. From our playthrough it took around 25-30 hours to reach the game credits. Given the open-world structure, you can almost certainly speed that up a bit by sticking more closely to the main quests and battles.

Still, we think that’s a pretty decent chunk of time for this adventure, especially as the game is breaking down the traditional formula – there’s no battle with an Elite Four at the end of this game… because Pokémon training is so new to the world! Instead you’ll be battling against Noble Pokémon through your journey.

Is there an end game?

Absolutely there is! After beating the main story, there’s a new quest line and more Legendary Pokémon to try and catch. We’d put it at around 40 hours to get through to the end of that.

As for getting 100% completion? Well, we’re not there yet, but will let you know once we reach that point!

Pokémon Legends Arceus is a great new entry in this series. In fact, we called it a “must-play” in our review:

“Pokémon Legends Arceus is a must-play game for fans of the franchise. Not only is it the very best Pokémon game yet, but it elegantly takes the formula and flips it on its head, creating a unique new challenge that fans will love. With the nods to the anime and Pokémon games abound, Arceus feels very much like a love letter from Game Freak.”
