How to Unlock Tsurumi Island in Genshin Impact
Tsurumi Island is by far the most mysterious island in the archipelago of Inazuma. It is situated far south, even beyond the thunderstorm-engulfed Seirai Island.
People of Inazuma believe that Tsurumi Island is desolate and that the locals and their entire civilization is long gone. What adds to the mystery of Tsurumi Island, is that this region seems to be engulfed by a strange mist.
Treasure hunters, adventurers, and all other persons who tried to venture the mysterious region seem to have a hard time exploring it due to this eerie phenomenon.
For players, this will be one of the game mechanics that you are required to learn and solve. Even if you have unlocked the Statue of the Seven on this island, the map view will be covered with clouds, hindering your only navigation option.
As you set foot on the island, the heavy mist will immediately accumulate and hinder your sight. This will cause you to lose your way amidst the mist, as the game states it, and then you will get sent back to the Statue of the Seven.
The fog all over Tsurumi Island is also the game’s way of preventing the players from skipping some of its major content and lore. In order for you to start exploring this group of islands, you have to complete certain requirements.
There is a major world quest for the nation of Inazuma that involves exploring Tsurumi Island. This quest will be your ticket to unlocking the region. It is a chain of quests called “Through the Mists”.
This quest series will only be available to you once you have completed another quest series called “Seirai Stormchasers”, which is the mission needed to open Seirai Island for exploration.
When you have completed Seirai Stormchasers, Katheryne in Inazuma City will ask you to take a rather difficult commission posted by a novelist named Sumida. This will be the first quest of the Through the Mists world quest series.
