Is Free Fire banned in India? Popular battle royale game disappears from App Store and Google Play Store: Garena Free Fire, which has emerged as the strong competitor of popular Battle Royale game PUBG Mobile & BGMI, has disappeared from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, neither Garena, Apple, or Google has released a statement regarding the sudden disappearance of the application from their respective application stores.
Is Garena Free Fire banned in India?
Last month, Krafton accused Garena Free Fire of copying different game elements from their popular battle royale game PUBG and PUBG Mobile. Moreover, in a separate lawsuit, they have sued Apple, Google and Youtube for allowing the game in their application stores and allowing streamers to showcase their gameplay, respectively. Krafton has claimed that Garena International should immediately stop exploiting two games.
The other possible reason behind Garena Free Fire’s ban could be the ban of 50 applications of Chinese origin. This banned list of apps includes applications of Chinese origin and those apps which are resurfaced on application stores as the clone of previously banned apps. However, there is no official list of prohibited applications released by GOI.
Very little information is known about the list of banned applications right now. As per the report of ET Now, the new list includes most of the cloned apps, which are already banned in India. With the addition of 50 applications, the total number of applications banned by the Government of India may reach around 320 in numbers.
