JW Shares Plans of Creating a Swedish CS:GO Team Along With Flusha

CS:GO veterans, Jesper “JW” Wecksell and Robin “flusha” Rönnquist, want to reinvigorate the Swedish Counter-Strike scene which is now a shadow of its former self. With both, Fnatic and Ninjas In Pyjamas, transitioning to an international roster, JW feels that Sweden is slowly losing its identity.

Following his release from Fnatic in October 2021, JW felt like starting something of his own in Sweden. But before taking a leap of faith, JW joined hands with flusha to stabilize his team GORILLAZ. Unfortunately, nothing good came of it as the struggle continued, but JW gained a lot of experience from his endeavor with regards to what goes into creating a good CS:GO team from scratch.

In a recent interview with HLTV, the 26-year-old opened up about how he wants to build a new Swedish CS:GO team from the ground up along with his friend and teammate flusha.

JW wants to create a new Swedish CS:GO team with flusha

One of the best AWP players from Sweden, JW, has shared his plans of creating a new CS:GO team along with flusha. He feels as most Swedish organizations are now fielding international rosters, there is a gap that needs to be filled, because both him and flusha still see the potential talent within Sweden and want to “take care of it”.

The two veterans are looking forward to merging their entrepreneurial drive along with their hunger to compete, grooming some young and talented Swedish players under their wings, with an aim to at least make it into the top 30 CS:GO teams in the world.

JW confesses that creating an esports organization has always been a dream of his, as he always likes to do work both inside and outside the server. However, the plans of the current project have been brewing for months and things are still getting delayed, as flusha is still contracted to GORILLAZ till the end of 2022 while their search for funding is still ongoing.

That’s the hardest part right now because you want to work with people that you know are true and good, which is one of the harder things in esports, to find these honest and good people. I’ve been here many years now and there are a lot of ugly fish in the waters.

Talking about his partner, JW complements flusha by saying that he is the smartest Swedish Counter-Strike player ever and that his experience would be invaluable when it comes to building a new team.

Though nothing is set in stone at the moment, JW and flusha have signed up with a team called Gamingbutiken for the open qualifiers of the upcoming Elitserien tournament (biggest Swedish national league). The tournament is scheduled to take place from 15th February to 12th May.

Two young Swedish players mentioned by JW, that he might be eyeing, are Leo “Svedjehed” Svedjehed and Anton “Sapec” Palmgren. While the former will be seen in action in the upcoming tournament, the latter is currently signed to Young Ninjas, NIP’s academy CS:GO roster.
