KarlTzy Reveals Reason for His Departure From Bren Esports
Former Bren Esports star Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno explained why he left his former team and chose to join ECHO’s lineup for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. Through a livestream, KarlTzy expressed that the team’s training routine was not ideal for him. He believes that the scrim sessions weren’t optimal and were quite limiting due to the constant player swaps every two games. KarlTzy also posted a friendly banter on Tiktok calling out his former teammates. Bren Esports also responded with its own friendly banter targeted towards its former pro player.
MPL PH Casters Manjean and Uomi Are Skeptical of ECHO’s All-Star TeamKarlTzy unsatisfied with Bren Esports’s training routine
Through one of his livestreams, ECHOS’ latest star player, KarlTzy, revealed the reason for his departure from Bren Esports. According to the pro player, he felt the scrim sessions were way too limiting. Even if he wanted to do better after an unsatisfying match during scrim sessions, each player only had two games before they got switched with another player.
“I hate how they make us do rotations. For example, two games on scrim, it doesn’t feel satisfying. I’m left hanging when playing, if we can only do two games on scrims and then get switched for another player,” he said.
KarlTzy added that he was considering continuing his education after leaving Bren Esports. However, he received an offer from ECHO for the upcoming MPL PH Season 9.
“It’s better if I continued my study but I got recruited (by ECHO),” he said.
Team manager of ECHO, Mitch Liwanag, expressed that KarlTzy is still aiming to redeem himself despite people saying that the star player no longer has the determination to win tournaments as he already achieved an M2 World Championship title.
“To those who say that Karl (KarlTzy) is not hungry (to win) because he’s already a champion (M2 World Championship), he (KarlTzy) actually mentioned to me that he really wants to prove himself,” Mitch said.

Before the MPL PH Season 9 commenced, the official TikTok account of ECHO posted a video where KarlTzy challenges one of his former teammates from Bren Esports, avid Charles “FlapTzy” Canon.
“What I can say for Bren (Bren Esports) is be fully prepared. Especially you Flap (FlapTzy), be careful on your lane because maybe you’ll get solo killed by my teammate (Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico),” he said.
Following this friendly banter, Bren Esports responded with a TikTok video featuring one of its latest recruits, Jomari “Jowm” Pingol.
“You, KarlTzy! Don’t face us. We’ll be shouting, Bren is the strongest! (Bren lang malakas!),” Jowm said.
The battle between Bren Esports and ECHO will be on the second day of the first week of the MPL PH Season 9 at 6:00 PM (PHT). This battle will see ECHO’s star-studded lineup go up against Bren Esports’ amateur standouts.
