Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer (Hoshi no Samidare), one of the most beloved manga of the 2000s, unexpectedly got a TV anime adaptation announced this January 24, with a Summer 2022 release date.
What is Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer? Spoilers-free introduction
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer is one of the manga that was all the talk in the late 2000s early 2010. Before the advent of AniTwitter, AniTuber, and microblogging. Pretty much every single anime blog who knew its stuff would talk about Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. And praise it as one of the best manga ever. Now, Hoshi no Samidare is actually getting an anime, with a teaser page and a first key visual revealed.
Satoshi Mizukami wrote and illustrated The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer. And its originality makes it a masterpiece. Most notably when handling fantasy themes, super powers, and anti-hero types of protagonists. If you’d like to check it out, the original Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer manga is available at Seven Seas or digitally on Crunchyroll in the US.

Why fans of Hoshi no Samidare (Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer) are hyped
Moreover, pretty much everyone thought an anime adaptation of Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer would never happen. Most fans consider the manga is too weird for anime. Moreover, Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer ended in August 2010 after a five-year run. So at first glance, there is no reason why a capitalistic fueled Anime Production Committee would greenlight an anime adaptation. Because there is no manga, novel, or original product to advertise with it anymore. Unlike Planet With, for example, a Mizukami story that started as an anime and is now continuing as a manga.
Furthermore, Satoshi Mizukami is heavily involved in the Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer anime project. Writing the scripts himself. And rather than an official Twitter account made for the occasion, Mizukami announced the anime adaptation through his own Twitter.
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer TV anime staff

Yuichiro Momose wrote scripts for My Sister My Writer, I’m a Spider So What, My First Girlfriend is a Gal, Infinite Dendrogram.
