MobaZane Expresses Frustration Over NA Not Having MPL
BloofThirstyKings’ (BTK) team captain, Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun, expressed his frustrations towards the North American (NA) Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Esports Scene not growing the way he hoped and expected. Through one of his livestreams, the team captain stated that it is high time for Moonton to begin hosting a Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) in NA. He added that the lack of an MLBB Esports scene in NA has made his teammates play less Mobile Legends as there are fewer incentives to pursue competitive MLBB in the region. He also stated some of the BTK players are playing Riot Game’s mobile MOBA title, Wild Rift instead of MLBB.
MobaZane Considers Wise’s Playstyle as the Most Effective in the MLBB MetaMobaZane feels NA is not getting enough attention from Moonton
During the M3 World Championship, the representative for NA, BTK, showed the world that the Southeast Asian (SEA) region is not the only region brimming with formidable MLBB pro players. The team managed to send Blacklist International, one of the strongest Philippines MLBB teams, down to the lower brackets of the playoffs stage. While BTK was not able to secure the championship title, a lot of fans and pro players were amazed by BTK’s performance.
BTK definitely showed that NA has the potential to be one of the strongest regions in the MLBB esports scene. However, through one of MobaZane’s livestreams, we see that he believes Moonton is not paying enough attention to the region’s esports ecosystem to the point where some of BTK’s members are playing Wild Rift in the meantime. “A lot of BTK members play Wild Rift. I can’t blame them, garbage server (MLBB NA Server) doesn’t give us any MPL,” he said.
MobaZane thinks there are barely any incentives to play and stream MLBB content in the NA region which is why his teammates are temporarily switching to Riot Games’ mobile MOBA title, Wild Rift.
The team captain added that this won’t be the end of BTK as his teammates will return to play MLBB eventually. However, he is also frustrated that Moonton is yet to provide them with an official competitive league. “Give us MPL already, man! What a joke!” he said.
MobaZane added that even if BTK managed to achieve championship titles in official esports events, Moonton may still not pay attention to the region’s stagnant esports ecosystem. “What do I need to do, get first, then get MPL? The sad thing is, I bet even if we got first we’ll probably still never gonna have MPL,” he said.
The team captain then complained about how much investment he has made for MLBB and yet he is unsatisfied with the esports scene in NA. He even goes on to say that players in NA have invested more money than players from other regions. “We give them so much money, man. We give ML more money than Indonesia,” he said.
Last year, Moonton hosted two MLBB tournaments in the NA region – the NA Challenger Cup and the M3 World Championship – NA Qualifier. Both of these tournaments saw BTK dominating the scene.
Moonton is yet to announce its plans for growing the MLBB esports ecosystem in NA. Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled for more updates regarding the future of MLBB esports in the region.
