Muzan Kibutsuji And Kagaya Ubuyashiki Connection in Demon Slayer Explained

The final episode of the Entertainment District Arc gave us a good hint that there could be a strong connection between Muzan Kibutsuji and the Demon Slayer Corps head Kagaya Ubuyashiki. Here’s everything you need to know.

Finally, the long battle between the demon siblings and the demon slayers is over. But this is just a start. Things are going to get really serious in the coming season 3. Akaza is shown to be summoned by Muzan Kibutsuji, and he deduces that this could only mean the Demon Slayer Corps have killed an upper-rank demon.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki gets the information about the victory of Tengen and other demon slayers against Daki and Gyutaro. He is overwhelmed by the news, but at the same time, he is anguished by how things have been unfavorable for them for so of years. While expressing his hate for Muzan, Kagaya mentions that Muzan is the only disgrace to their entire family. This indeed gives us a hint that both the characters are somehow connected to each other.

Muzan Kibutsuji And Kagaya Ubuyashiki Connection

The relationship between the most prominent protagonist and the biggest antagonist of the show dates back thousands of years. Kagaya reveals his connection with Muzan Kibutsuji, stating that they both shared the same family tree a long time ago. When Muzan Kibutsuji was born, their family line got cursed back then. As a result, every child who took birth in their family was born weak and died immediately. And this was quickly leading their family to the verge of extinction.

But then it was unveiled by a priest that it was happening due to the birth of a demon in their bloodline. The only way to save the family from being wiped out was to dedicate their everything to defeat that demon. By doing so, the children’s birth will turn out to be normal, and their bloodline will be saved from extinction.

Kagaya Ubuyashi further reveals that their family has received wives from the priests for generations. And although the children of their family do not die after they are born, no one is able to live more than 30 years of age. This curse will most probably be nullified after the death of Muzan Kibutsuji. Thousands of years have passed since Kagaya’s bloodline is fighting Muzan.
