Nacon and Daedalic Entertainment are both currently partnering on the publishing of The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum. Now however, that partnership has gone even further.

Nacon has announced that they will be acquiring Daedalic Entertainment in a deal valued at €53 million, which the company expects will close this year.

According to Nacon’s chief executive officer Alain Falc, the acquisition made sense strategically and culturally between the two studios.

“We knew, through our collaboration on Gollum, that Nacon and Daedalic share the same values and the same objectives to deliver unique experiences to gamers.

Therefore, it seemed logical to go further together and we’re extremely happy of this acquisition. It represents a significant step in Nacon’s strategy.”

According to a Gematsu report, Daedalic will continue to be run by its current founder and chief executive officer Carsten Fichtelmann, alongside chief operating officer Stephan Harms.

Fichtelmann also expressed his excitement about the acquisition, saying in part:

“Together with Nacon, we are now taking the next step to further develop our catalogue of games created by our own team as well as many incredible indie studios.

We are looking back at a trusting and cooperative collaboration on The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum and forward to an even brighter future together”
