Reminder: You Don’t Need The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass To Play The DLC
That’s what friends are for.
It’s only around a month before we’ll be able to dive into some shiny new content in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, with the release of the ‘Booster Course Pass’ first wave. Up to the end of 2023 there’ll be six waves that’ll bring a combined 48 courses to the game, priced at $24.99 USD / $32.99 CAN / £22.49 to get them all; it’ll also be included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Wave 1 arrives on 18th March and will include the following:
Golden Dash Cup
- Paris Promenade (Mario Kart Tour)
- Toad Circuit (Mario Kart 7)
- Choco Mountain (Mario Kart 64)
- Coconut Hall (Mario Kart Wii)
Lucky Cat Cup
- Tokyo Blur (Mario Kart Tour)
- Shroom Ridge (Mario Kart DS)
- Sky Garden (Mario Kart Super Circuit)
- Ninja Hideaway (Mario Kart Tour)
A question we’ve seen posed is whether you’ll need to own the Pass or have the NSO+ Expansion Pack to actually play the courses. The answer is no, if you’re happy to either take your chances in the online rotation or play with a friend that does have access to the Pass.
