Resident Evil 3 Remake Has Shipped Over 5 Million Copies Globally
Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 3 remake has shipped over five million copies worldwide across PS4, PC, and Xbox One since its launch in April 2020.
According to Capcom’s press blurb, Resident Evil 3 saw its user base grow steadily on the back of a “digital promotion strategy that incorporated ongoing pricing measures and a focus on sales of the PC version, leading cumulative global shipments of the game to surpass 5 million units.”
Resident Evil 3 is a complete reimagining of the original 1999 PlayStation title Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and takes place 24 hours before and after Resident Evil 2. The game sees players controlling Jill Valentine, the former S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team agent from the original Resident Evil, as she attempts to escape a zombie-infested Raccoon City.
