According to leaker Tom Henderson, Electronic Arts is considering making some of the Battlefield 2042 Portal Mode free-to-play in wake of the game’s disappointing performance.

Apparently, EA is exploring numerous possibilities for Battlefield 2042 going forward, including free access to “a portion of Portal.”

Portal Mode allows gamers to mix and match various elements from previous Battlefield games, including maps, so you could have Spitfires from World War II going up against mechs from modern Battlefield games.
