Run on Pipe is a zany racing game that sees you playing a character with a big hole in their midriff. You need to use this to slot onto pipes, all the way avoiding obstacles and trying to keep ahead of the other participants in the challenge.

It’s a neat idea, but there are some things you’re going to have to know if you want to get to the finish line first. And that’s where this guide comes in. It’s packed full of the finest strategies we’ve discovered during our time playing Run on Pipe.

It doesn’t matter if you’re about to leap on your first pipe or you’ve already dodged linebackers and swinging hammers multiple times – there’s going to be something here to help you out. These are the best hints, tips and cheats for Run on Pipe.

This is a pretty important one – you need to keep your finger pressed down on the screen to keep moving forward. If you lift it up, you’ll stop, and for the most part stopping in the middle of a race – unless you’re doing it to avoid an obstacle – is a pretty bad idea.

Check the pipes

The pipes in the game are different sizes, and if you run into one that you’re not going to fit around, you’re going to smash into it and fall over. Check the pipes and the size of your ring and try and make the right decision.

There are a variety of buttons on each level – they’ll turn off some traps and set off others. For the most part you should try and press there, since they’ll often give you a chance to get ahead. There are exceptions, but you’ll know them when you see them.

Aim the keys

When you’re unlocking the padlocks, you need to aim the white line so it’s hitting inside the keyhole. It can be a bit tricky, so take your time and aim up your shot before you let it fly. Wasting the keys means it’ll take longer to unlock the cases.

You can spend the gems on unlocking new costumes from the store along the bottom of the screen at the start of the level. They’re entirely cosmetic changes, but if you’ve got some spare gems you may as well buy one.
