Publisher Kwalee and developer Damage State have unveiled bullet-hell FPS Scathe, coming to consoles and PC later this year.

Scathe is also the name of your character, who happens to be an Enforcer for the legions of Hell. However, you’ve got to prove you belong in your role by blasting your way through a labyrinth filled with grotesque demons. Along the way, you’ll be searching for three Hellstones, protected by all-powerful Guardians who’ll stand in your way.

Quick reflexes and heavy firepower is the order of the day in Scathe then, as you’ll be dodging waves of enemy projectiles. Luckily, you’ve got access to a well stocked arsenal to fire back with, such as the fire-spewing Hot Hatch. If that’s not to your tastes, how about a buzzsaw launcher known as the Bow Blade?

You’ll get to pick your own path through the maze, and the game will support drop-in drop-out co-op multiplayer. Up to four players total can take on the forces of hell, and cross platform play is supported too. Be on your toes though, as everyone shares the same pool of lives, so run out and it’s game over.

You can check out the game’s debut trailer for yourself down below. Scathe is currently pencilled in for launch at some point in 2022 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
