Snapchat down with connection issues leaving games offline
Snapchat is down tonight with connection issues, leaving all of its games unavailable to play.
Friends trying to invite and join other gaming sessions are having trouble logging into Snapchat tonight.
Snapchat Is Temporarily down
Server issues first started being reported at around 1am GMT and have continued throughout the most recent hour. It’s unclear what has caused the February 12 outage, but it has left Snapchat users locked out of key features.
This includes the platform’s gaming suite, including the most popular titles to play with friends. Games are made by Snapchat and third-party game developers that aren’t part of the Snap Inc company, making them independent titles.
For those who have never used the feature before, you can launch a game by swiping right to the Chat screen, tapping on a Chat or Group Chat, tapping the Snapchat Games rocket icon to open the Games and Minis Drawer, and then choosing a game from the list.
However, that isn’t an option for most people right now, with the games made for Snapchat offline.
The list of games available regularly on the app are currently made by the following developers:
Bitmoji Party, Bitmoji Tennis, and some other games are made by Snapchat.
Zombie Rescue Squad and Ready Set Golf are made by PikPok.
Snake Squad is made by Playco.
Alphabear Hustle is made by Spry Fox.
Tiny Royale and Bumped Out are made by Zynga.
Subway Surfers Airtime is made by SYBO.
Color Galaxy and Crazy Run are made by Gismart.
Ready Chef Go! is made by MojiWorks.
Storm Skaters is made by CoolGames.
No guidance has been shared on when Snapchat servers will be back online across devices, and thousands of reports are being shared via Downdetector regarding tonight’s outage.
Those trying to use Snapchat servers are reporting error messages pointing to connection issues on mobile and desktop. One Snapchat shared this example of what happening tonight on Twitter, writing: “Who else is having problems with logging in your account with Snapchat?
“I am, when I tried to log in it says please check your internet connection, so I did that, I have phone service, I also tried to reset my phone and delete the app and re-downloaded it. It’s still saying “please check your internet connection,” That being said, I have no clue what is going on.”
