Some Tokyo Revengers Fans Aren’t Happy with the Latest Manga Chapter

Tokyo Revengers introduced a major plot twist in the manga’s latest chapter, and some fans aren’t exactly happy with how the story is moving forward.

Ken Wakui’s Tokyo Revengers has become insanely popular after the success of the anime adaptation. Season 1 of the anime ended at a major cliffhanger, forcing several fans to switch towards the manga.

Unlike the anime, the manga series is getting new chapters every week without any long hiatus. So, manga’s story is way ahead of the anime series; in fact, we are at the Final Arc. The story arcs for several characters are coming to an end, and Takemichi has decided to take a final stand against Mikey. However, for several fans, the story of Tokyo Revengers is only going downhill after Draken’s death.

Fans Aren’t Sold Out On Mikey and Haruchiyo’s Past

In the latest chapter, we got a better look at Senju, Mikey, and Haruchiyo’s past. The chapter begins with Mikey playing with a toy and stating that no one is allowed to touch it. However, Senju found the toy when Mikey wasn’t around, and she started playing with it. Unfortunately, she accidentally breaks the toy, and out of fear, she lies to Mikey that it was Haruchiyo who broke the toy. After that, Mikey takes out his aggression of Haru, which eventually leaves scars on Haru’s face.

Now, this is the same Mikey who didn’t do anything reckless when Hinata slapped him. Also, he is the same guy who beat the Yokohama gang not because they damaged his beloved bike but because they injured Baji. So, looking at the same character damaging a friend’s face over a broken toy is something that some fans can’t digest.

That said, several fans still have their faith in the mangaka, and they think that the story will get better in the upcoming chapters. But it’s hard to deny the latest plot twist has Tokyo Revengers fandom divided on the internet.

Some fans think it’s silly to show a character like Mikey losing his cool over a toy. On the other hand, some readers feel that the latest events add to the complexity of Mikey’s nature.
