Sony‘s Chief Financial Officer Hiroki Tokoki has revealed during the company’s latest earnings call that the hardware manufacturer plans to ship 10 live service games by 2026.

Speaking in wake of the company’s recent acquisition of Destiny 2 developer Bungie, Totoki-san also revealed that its latest addition to the PlayStation Studios family is working on a “major new IP,” and that Sony plans to take full advantage of Bungie’s live service expertise going forward.

Our studios will learn from Bungie, that is a strong wish we have the Bungie side is willing to work closely with us.

It isn’t known at this point if Bungie itself is developing any of the live service games, but given their experience with those type of games with Destiny, it wouldn’t be surprising if they are.

Bungie signed a ten-year deal with Activision for the Destiny franchise, although the company split from the publisher a few years back, resulting in it having complete control over the IP.

Sony announced on Monday that it had purchase Bungie for $3.6 billion, with all games to remain multiplatform. The console maker reportedly had its eye on the studio for a while, with the deal having been in the works for six months.
