Star Wars: Hunters is yet to get a release date, but some fans are already getting hyped for the release of “Star Wars Overwatch”. What’s cool is, the game will actually be bringing back something from classic Star Wars title, The Old Republic.

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Huttball is Coming to Star Wars: Hunters

In an interview with GameSpot, head of Natural Motion and Star Wars: Hunters developer Jeff Hickman has revealed that Huttball will be coming to Hunters. Hickman explains:

“The translation of that [format] to Huttball–where that format becomes a ‘sport’–just made sense. It’s a natural addition to the game that also provides us with a great opportunity to pay homage to SWTOR, while also serving as a great vehicle to bring an already beloved sport to new audiences.”

In SWTOR, Huttball was an 8v8 game which had players team up and try to move a ball to the enemy team’s base—it’s essentially a Star Wars version of a Capture the Flag mode. Of course, there will be some modifications made to the mode with Hunters being a 4v4 game.

With the context of Hunters being a game where characters fight in an arena for sport, it was only natural that they would bring Huttball into the mix.

As of now, no release date has been set for Star Wars: Hunters, but the game is looking good with some fun-looking characters and maps inspired by different Star Wars locales.
