Stock up on lasagne, three new Garfield video games are on the way
2019’s Garfield Kart Furious Racing must have done well for Microids as they have announced not one, not two, but three new Garfield video games for the coming years.

“We are thrilled by this new agreement with ViacomCBS Consumer Products!” said Alain Milly, Editorial Director for Microids. “Garfield is a well-known and family-friendly IP fitting perfectly our portfolio made of popular franchises for all ages. Following successful collaborations on Garfield: Wild Ride and Garfield Kart Furious Racing, we are incredibly honored to work with ViacomCBS Consumer Products on three new games.”
Now I know what you’re thinking, “Three Garfield games seems a little excessive, it’s not like there have been many in the past have there?”
Wrong.
There have been twenty-six published Garfield games, two cancelled games, plus he made an appearance in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Twenty six! There’s more Garfield games than in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises combined! In fact I vaguely remember play Big Fat Hairy Deal, which you can see below, on the Commodore Amiga.
The most recent game, Garfield Kart Furious Racing, was not particularly well received as it was essentially the same Garfield Kart from 2016 but with added online multiplayer. However, it has incredible reviews on Steam with over 8,000 very positive reviews.
It appears many Steam reviewers think they are comedians and have been posting ironically super positive reviews for the game, such as this one:
Garfield (Voiced by Chris Pratt) has committed multiple felonies and was caught drug trafficking. And alongside his silly friends, it is his goal to run away from the FBI and CIA. This alternative story somehow beats the legendary classical comic “Garfield”, in which it was adapted from. The plot continues to unfold in a way that probably can rewrite the art of gamemaking and storytelling itself. Possibly the greatest twist of all time is contained in this game – something that you should experience yourself. The way the story is delivered in a way which allows the audience to interpret the story by themselves is absolutely ingenious.
And this one…
When Jesus of Nazareth himself made a cameo in the game, I knew I was hooked. In hour 65, you begin racing against the clock as evil Shinji Ikari in Unit 01 tries to destroy the entire GeoFront. But what REALLY got me was when Goku was shot and killed trying to defend your gang of Kart racers in hour 98 by none other than the final boss of the game: Griffith from Berserk. I was in genuine tears, and in a fury filled rage I smashed my computer. It’s .
Or this one…
This game really makes you feel like Spider-Man.
Or this one…
Please introduce 1 handed mode, I just love Garfield that much
With that delightful image in your head, I shall bid you adieu.
