The big games releasing in February 2022
It’s now February 2022 and I’ve never seen this month packed with big games releasing so close to each other during the shortest month of the year. There’s a lot to look forward to, but here are the big games to keep an eye on.
Big games releasing in February 2022 Dying Light 2 Stay Human (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – February 4
Dying Light 2 is an open world first-person zombie survival game with parkour as a strong means of traversing the world and staying alive as players will be jumping from one rooftop to another as a new protagonist exploring a new version of Haram. Developer Techland boasts that the game will take 500 hours to do everything in the game and that it features 40,000 lines of dialogue.
Sifu (PC, PS4, PS5) – February 8
Sifu is an upcoming beat ‘em up from developer Sloclap (Absolver) that features an intense hand-to-hand combat system. Apparently when you die, you are revived by a magical talisman at the expense of your character aging for each resurrection.
Lost Ark (PC) – February 11
The action RPG Lost Ark has been out in Korea since 2018 and is now getting a localized version of the game by Amazon Games Studios. It’s a visually stylish free-to-play game that has the potential to satisfy your needs if you’re itching to play a game similar to the likes of Diablo. Pre-loading the game will begin on February 7.
Horizon: Forbidden West (PS5, PS4) – February 18
Horizon: Forbidden West is Aloy’s next big adventure and takes place right where Horizon Zero Dawn ended. We find Aloy heading West to further uncover the secrets of the old world. The sequel expands the game even further with Aloy now equipped with a variety of new gadgets to face a bigger roster of mechanized animals this time around. Footage of the PS4 version of the game was released recently and it’s looking good for PS4 owners eager to play the sequel.
Destiny 2: the Witch Queen (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – February 22
Destiny 2 next expansion the Witch Queen is coming and there’s a lot to get excited about if you so happen to take a break from the free-to-play shooter. The expansion brings the new glaive weapon type, weapon crafting, and a complete rework of one of the game’s light subclasses, starting with the Void subclass.
In this expansion, the players are taking the fight against Savathûn as they are heading to the Witch Queen’s throne room, the new destination for the game.
Elden Ring (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – February 25
Developer From Software’s next game can simply be described as an open world Dark Souls action RPG. Based on recent footage, the game is massive as it’s the studio’s biggest game to date. It’s one of the most highly anticipated games in 2021 and it features a new world created with the help of Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin.
