Introducing the Sailing system in Lost Ark

As you progress through the main story of Lost Ark, you will automatically unlock the sailing system and ships. Ships are incredibly important as this is how you’ll be able to reach many new areas. However, there are eight different types of ships, and you’ll first need to unlock them to use them.

Moreover, each ship type is upgraded independently, and leveling the ships takes a huge amount of time. Especially as certain upgrade materials have a daily cap and you can’t farm them indefinitely. Your resources are limited, so unless you’re a whale player or got a lot of free time to grind, the best is to focus on a single ship type to upgrade.

Lastly, there are six different types of Hazardous Waters in Lost Ark that will put your ship in danger, such as icy waters or sand waters. Each ship has different Ship Stability/Hazardous Waters Resistance stats, which will increase as you upgrade and level the ships.

Here’s the ship type should you upgrade and focus on in Lost Ark

The best ship type you should upgrade and focus on in Lost Ark is the Estoque. It’s the first ship type you will get when you unlock the Sailing system, and it’s the sole ship you can easily use in all situations and for all sea events. This is the general consensus among players who’ve been playing Lost Ark for a long time, most notably through the Korean and Japanese versions, out for over a year.

All the other ships in Lost Ark are specialized in a specific sea terrain, and as you upgrade them to max level, they will have unbalanced Ship Stability/Hazardous Waters Resistance stats, being much more efficient in certain seas than in others. Some ships have up to 55 Ship Stability in certain seas, but with low Stability all the way down to 13 in other areas.

However, the Estoque is the sole ship at a max level upgrade that will have 30 Ship Stabiilty in all types of seas. This is why you should first focus on upgrading the Estoque ship in Lost Ark.
