Created by Josh Wardle and recently acquired by the New York Times, Wordle is might very well be the most played game in the world right now. The fun little word game has taken the world by storm, allowing players to guess a five letter word each day, but with only six guesses.

Wordle clones have popped up all over the internet, but this little project is standing out from the rest of the pack. Twitter user stackmashing unveiled his project on the social media platform, showing off a port of Wordle running on the Game Boy.

Due to the Game Boy’s limited hardware, the port doesn’t contain the full Wordle list, and instead uses a bloom filter to check if an entered word is one of the 8,000 most common English words. Still, it looks pretty nifty on the handheld device, and you can download the ROM yourself and flash it on a cart, then play it on a Game Boy or Analogue Pocket if you’ve got one.
